The 20th anniversary of the US invasion of Iraq

We are on the 20th anniversary of the invasion and brutal looting of Iraq. These 20 years have caused more impact and changes in the Middle East and the wider geography than perhaps any other period of comparable length. The powers were changed, the presidents who came to power by election or who ruled for many years with the support of their people in one way or another were overthrown, by being labeled as “dictators” and using methods reminiscent of medieval action movies. In their place, chaos has been established almost everywhere. It is still ongoing and it seems it will never end.

The “coalition” forces headed by the duo of George Bush and Tony Blair were led especially by the “hawks” of war-oriented politics in the United States, who were then embedded in the Republican Party. This center, described as the Neocons, was actually exactly the US “Deep State” itself. When the Soviet Union collapsed in the hands of Gorbachev, a historic opportunity passed into the hands of the war-mongering imperialists who created the theory of “unipolar world hegemony”, which was developed from the bottom up during the Cold War days. When this opportunity was enriched by an “Attack on the Twin Towers” scenario, which is still not so clearly understood, a golden occasion was created to put into practice of the theories that the Neocons have been producing for fifty years. Of course, this opportunity was not a reward offered to them by history and coincidences. For a period of fifty years, balanced by the existence of the Soviet Union, American and British “think-tanks” constantly theorized about Western-centered hegemony. Millions of dollars were poured into the Middle-Eastern and Far-Eastern Centers opened at almost every important Western university, allowing these regions to be studied deeply and to produce domination policies according to it.

When the US war hawks fly in West Asia

The attack on the ”Twin Towers“, this very “strange coincidence” gave them a golden opportunity to put these theories into practice. When there was also no Soviet Bloc to play a role as an element of balance against them, the war eagles of the Neo-conservatives began to fly almost everywhere in the world. The Middle East, on the other hand, became the central address for the implementation of the most cruel attacks and the most brutal imperialist Western policies, as it is today in this regard.

During the planning of these attacks, all the peoples of the region, together with their own people of the Western world, were subjected to the largest and most effective “media” operation that history has ever seen. These days are the 20th anniversary of the Iraqi offensive. All the major Western media outlets, such as the New York Times, the Washington Post, CNN, claim now, as if they silently had agreed on, that they were “deceived”. Thus they are trying to exonerate themselves from the consequences of the attack on Iraq. Actually they all had worked on the days of the attack as if they were the official publication organs of the American General Staff. In particular, the news that ”Weapons of Mass Destruction” had been seized was introduced into all the houses of the Western world through these media outlets and played a major role in conditioning the people for the planned attack. The same media sources, years later, when it became clear that these “weapons” were just a propaganda tools, got rid of their responsibilities by twisting them with great skill. The Western world, which conveniently always has a “weak social memory”, had already stopped paying attention to the invasion of Iraq or Western atrocities in the Middle East. Therefore, the responsibility of the Western media for the war and all the atrocities that have arisen has been forgotten. They have tried to apply the same deceitful methods in other parts of the world, again with the same irresponsibility and unfortunately with the same success, and they are still continuing the same warmongering.

What is the measure of imperialist success?

It has been debated for a long time whether US imperialism succeeded or failed with the political results in Iraq. In fact, it is necessary to make the same kind of discussions about the political consequences that British Imperialism, the political teacher of the United States, has caused in Palestine, in the Arab World, in India, in Pakistan and in many parts of the world, in order to understand today’s developments.

When British imperialism, like the United States, had to leave every region and country it occupied, they definitely determined in leaving behind a “chaos and ungovernability” as a political choice even at the beginning of their occupation. The biggest example of this is the India-Pakistan partition that occurred on the day the British came out of India, which they had colonized and robbed for more than 300 years until 1947.

As soon as the British departed, a bloody civil war developed between the Hindu and Muslim societies. The British have made such a departing theory and applied it to practice as a policy to leave behind only disaster, absence, turmoil and blood. They have applied the same exit policies in the Arab world, Palestine, the Ottoman Empire, Africa and the Far East, and have consciously left their signature to the bloodiest spots of the world.

And the British directly transferred these experiences to the US imperialism, which was already growing in their hands. The civil wars, instability and bloodshed that we are witnessing almost everywhere in the world today are clear proof of this historical development.

Success in Iraqs invasion opens the door for the attack on Syria

The United States, which came out of the invasion of Iraq with “success”, immediately applied the same method in Syria. It should also be stated that the United States has been “successful” in the Syrian problem, which has been going on for 11 years. It is because, the US’s goal was never for Syria to achieve internal stability and be manageable on its own! The main goal of the United States and the Neo-Con is to create the deepest instabilities and create chaos wherever they lay their hands on, and in this chaotic environment, to create a power that is radically dependent on them with their domestic collaborators. That way they could maintain their presence in that region for a while longer. The loss of hundreds of thousands of Iraqi or Syrian people, the destruction of their economies, and the division of countries is actually a result that the US Neocons planned intention from the very beginning. Therefore, it would not be wrong to look at the current results of the invasion of Iraq, and say that they congratulate themselves. We can also rightfully guess that they are making the same congratulations about Syria.

A new era of attacks starting with COVID-19

The great health chaos into which the COVID virus has thrown the world, the source of which they are still shamelessly discussing, has also actually created an opportunity for the Neocons to reorganize and tighten their ranks. Regardless of the reason of the COVID, theories of taking advantage of a disease that threatens the lives of the peoples of the world were constantly featured in the publications of the Neocons, even as a “golden opportunity”.

In order to get the maximum benefit from this epidemic, they all blamed China together and with that they also stated the target of Neo-Con attacks in the coming new era. And even before the epidemic ends, they were already trying to prepare for the next stage by having fascist Ukraine attack Russia, which was considered China’s biggest security partner, in order to weaken China’s Western front.

The war mongering that transferred from Republicans to Democrats

Immediately after the attack of American imperialism on Syria, it also came to the fore that there was a radical realignment in the internal policies of the United States. In the new political alignment that has begun to crystallize between Obama-Biden-Clinton and Trump, the two wings of US imperialism are trying to direct the future of the United States by playing all the cards in their hands.

In this realignment, the Neo-Con aggressive war supporters, traditionally nested in the Republican Party, have largely switched to the side of the Democratic Party due to Trump’s different approaches to the future of the United States. The most recent and most important example of this has been the switch of senator Liz Cheney, the daughter of the most aggressive Republican Neo-Con Dick Cheney, to the side of the Democratic Party in the 2020 elections. Such important changes in ranks are continuing vigorously, and this new situation should be seen as a reflection of the internal repositioning in American society. And this alignment is not only in the political sphere. This new alignment is also taking place within the Pentagon, clearly enough to be reflected in the media. We can even read from the newspapers now that the same kind of re-alignment is occurring rapidly and deeply among the capitalists who are directing the US economy. We think that the difference between Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos is worth examining as the difference in the production and profit-making methods of American capitalists among themselves. In fact, although not very clearly, it seems that the globalist “virtual” capitalists and the “real” national capitalists will increasingly clash in the near future.

Are the Neocons in a hurry?

In these processes, the aggressive and pro-war Neocons in the United States seem to be in a race against time. Because it has already been two years since the 2020 election, which they won under barely and perhaps not very clear circumstances. In other words, the two years that have passed for the implementation of their war-oriented global agendas into life have actually been a bit of lost years for them.

The reason is because these two years have been spent dealing with COVID. Therefore, an attack on Russia was launched through Ukraine even before the epidemic started. The US attack on Ukraine using NATO is important as the first stage of the plans to settle accounts with the People’s Republic of China, which is its main long-term goal, through the Black Sea, the Eastern Mediterranean and the Middle East.

If the United States succeeds in this attack, it will take a very important position to settle accounts with the PRC over Taiwan in a forceful fashion, as the second stage of its plans, and reduce China’s economic and political influence as much as possible. But because of the sharpening of the internal contradictions of the United States almost every day and the danger that the peoples of its partners in Europe are increasingly entering into more radical protests, the Neocons are aware of the fact that they are racing against time.

Because on November 5, 2024, the US has a presidential election. And in the remaining 18 months, it does not seem at all possible for them to take all the steps in their plans and achieve a final victory. If Trump and the non-globalist American political forces win the 2024 elections, the political success that the Neocons have been dreaming of for years will remain just a dream, and due to these failures, they will lose very important positions both in the United States and in world politics.
