By Kıvanç Özdal and Tevfik Kadan
Ethem Sancak, deputy chairman and head of the international relations bureau of Türkiye’s Vatan Party (Patriotic Party), answered questions from journalists Kıvanç Özdal and Tevfik Kadan.
Famous businessman Sancak assessed the possible global consequences of Donald Trump’s second presidential term. According to the Turkish politician, the former US administration led the world to a major war step by step, while Trump will focus more on economic struggle, but threats in the Eastern Mediterranean will not disappear. “Neither Türkiye, China, Russia nor Iran can stand up to the US alone. Asian powers must stand back-to-back”, Sancak noted.
The process of destroying states
Ethem Sancak made an important excursion into American history, citing many historical episodes, from the discovery of the continent to the Treaty of Tordesillas, from the European invasion to the Revolutionary War of Independence, from Ottoman support for the young US to Ali Chavush in Arizona. According to him, the US began to take on an imperialist image from the early 19th century and became the world’s hegemon at the end of the Second World War. But after the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1990 began a period of decay.
The politician continued:
“The Soviet Union provided the balance, but when the Soviets collapsed, the US was left without a rival and the globalists emerged, who discarded all national values and ethical rules of the republic. The system we call neoliberalism abandoned all the revolutionary values of capitalism and began the process of destroying nations. They promise to unite the world under the roof of a global state and turn it into a ‘village ruled by us’, while their aim is to destroy nation states, turn the world into a single market and dominate it…. This market would at best allow city-states to enter. The big cities would be nationalized and run by them. It also destroyed America’s intrinsic values.”
The train has left
Sancak recalled that in the 1950s and 1960s, the U.S. accounted for 50 per cent of total world production, whereas today that percentage has fallen to 15. As he put it, ‘the center of production has shifted to Asia’. Trump, however, came to power in this environment with a recovery plan. But will the plan succeed? The party’s vice-chairman gives his own answer:
“No, the train has left … American civilization is failing. They don’t have the strength to do what they say. China, on the other hand, has the strength. India is next. The dollar empire is coming to an end. Until 1973, dollars were printed in exchange for gold. After 1973, things got out of control. They write ‘$100’ on a 20-cent piece of paper and sell it to the world. But the nations have awakened. We are no longer living in the age of slavery. The President of the Republic of South Africa comes out and says, ‘You have robbed us for 100 years, we will demand reparations from you for that.’ Now, no matter how much Trump fights, he cannot create a great imperialist country.”
Will a third world war break out?
Ethem Sancak believes that if Biden and his team had won the US election, they would have seriously wanted to lead the world into a third world war. “They were going to wage war and thus achieve renewal,” says Sancak. That’s why the Taiwan issue is being mused about. In the Trump era, a possible third world war has been postponed for some more time. ‘For 20 to 30 years,’ the politician expects.
He continued:
“America’s domestic forces have said, ‘Don’t fight now, we’re going to lose.’ But of course, we can’t know if Trump’s rule will be sustainable. After all, the globalists are still strong. They are still present in institutions. Kennedy’s fate is well-known. Is America approaching the threshold of civil war? There is a serious possibility of an explosion. It could come to a point of disintegration. Texas still has a constitutional right to secede from the United States. It uses a different flag. So now America, which is trying to divide us and create Kurdistan next to us, faces the danger of its own disintegration.”
The US does not trust Türkiye
Assessing the Trump administration’s policy towards Israel and the Eastern Mediterranean, the deputy chairman of the Vatan Party said, “Israel was created as an outpost of American and Western imperialism. An artificial state. They will try to guarantee its security. Sixty per cent of world trade passes through the Eastern Mediterranean. Imagine the space extending to the Strait of Hormuz. It is a very important route in terms of both energy resources and world trade. Control over it is also essential for international trade competition. Here, too, Israel’s security is vital.”
“The American state still recognizes the Treaty of Sèvres (one of the treaties of the Versailles-Washington system, the creation of which marked the end of World War I),” Sancak pointed out. “The US is not a party to the Lausanne Treaty. Moreover, when Israel was created, Türkiye was taken under control by including us in NATO. Türkiye became the defender of the southern flank of Western imperialism. We were dragged into many adventures. We were sent to Korea. We opposed the war of independence in Algeria. We supported France. Supported the British against Nasser, who nationalized the canal. The US had three forces opposing Arab nationalists: the Shah’s Iran, Türkiye, and Israel. Until when? Until the peacekeeping operation in Cyprus. That was not expected in any way. There, trust was undermined. The US decided that the Turks could not be trusted. They were also angered by the fact that during the Gulf War, Türkiye turned its back on American interests and did not enter Iraq. And now the American deep state and the establishment do not trust the Republic of Türkiye and its army.”
Dialogue with Soros
Sancak also narrated that he met the famous American billionaire George Soros at one symposium where they had a short conversation. The Turkish businessman told Soros about the greatness, history, opportunities, and potential of his country and relayed Soros’ response as follows:
“He said to me, ‘Listen, young man. You have only one export product that makes money.’ I asked: ‘What is it?’ And I heard back, ‘Your army!’’.
The US has not given up on Kurdistan
Saying that the US has not abandoned its plans for an independent Kurdistan, Sancak said:
“This plan is working”, Türkiye, he said, “is being offered various ‘carrots‘. Now Türkiye is being told, ‘We will give you Syria, be our representative in the Middle East. But make peace with Israel. Let’s go back. Let the Kurds be under your control but use them to divide the Iranian Kurds. Let them get autonomy. Azerbaijanis too. Let’s plunge Iran into chaos.’ Türkiye is trying to be used there. Trying to quarrel it with major allies in the future. After the events in Syria, the American patented agents of influence started hostilely attacking Iran on TV every day and every hour. They abandoned Israel and started sowing enmity against Iran and Russia. They are doing this deliberately. They are trying to pit us against our allies. Thank God our allies are patient,” the politician emphasized.
The U.S. is trying to take advantage of some of our country’s weaknesses to separate Türkiye from Asia. In this regard, Sancak said:
“They are ready to make any concessions, even give money. But they think, ‘What if these Turks tomorrow confront Israel or oppose us in the Eastern Mediterranean…’’ Because they need to build an aircraft carrier in Cyprus to dominate the Eastern Mediterranean. This is very important strategically. Whoever controls Cyprus controls the Strait of Hormuz, Gibraltar and the Black Sea. But they are afraid that the Turks may not allow them to use Cyprus…” Now America is in the most difficult situation and does not know what to do.
We cannot stand alone
According to Ethem Sancak, the US is not loosening its grip and is preparing for a major conflict in the Eastern Mediterranean. “If the US dominates the Eastern Mediterranean, will China sit idly by? The heart of China is this very region. If the Strait of Hormuz is blocked, China will die, the Chinese economy will stand up. 60-70 per cent of its energy passes through there. So, the battle will be fought in the Eastern Mediterranean. At the same time, no single power could confront America alone. Neither China, nor Russia, nor Iran, nor Türkiye could. Unless the Asian powers stand back-to-back, they will be unable to stop this great hegemonic power,” the politician concluded.
Also criticizing the rhetoric along the lines of ‘a Turk has no other friend but a Turk’, Sancak added:
“Using such words is the greatest betrayal. Turks have not won a single victory without friends. If Lenin had not supported Mustafa Kemal Ataturk in the war of independence, our situation would have been difficult. The Turks won the victory by uniting with 72 nations. Otherwise, the Turks would have been erased from the stage of history. If the great Seljuks had not been able to unite with 72 communities, they would not have been able to dominate these regions. The Armenians were a loyal people, the Kurds too. The Turks united with all the ethnicities of this geographical space.”
The Turkish people know
Sancak emphasized that there is bound to be a confrontation in the Eastern Mediterranean and Türkiye will side with Asia with a 51% probability. “From now on, the laws of the 1950s, 1960s cannot be imposed on the people of the Republic of Türkiye, the Turkish nation,” he continued. “From now on, Turkish governments cannot support France during the Algerian national liberation war.”
The deputy chairman of the Vatan Oarty concluded his speech as follows:
“Now they are conducting polls, asking, ‘Who is Türkiye’s number one enemy?’ 90% answer: ‘America.’ Therefore, no government can force our people to accept American support and assistance. No matter how many carrots they give. Will they give Kirkuk, will they give Damascus, will they give Aleppo… These are all fairy tales!”
The goal is to reduce the population to one billion
Ethem Sancak also commented on the social decline in the US, noting, “Imagine a country with five of the richest people in the world. At the same time, there are currently 30 million homeless people in America. The streets are full of people who have nowhere to live. The mayor of New York City told me, ‘We take 20 bodies out of parks every day.’ Nearly 60 million people eat on coupons issued by the government. I visited Detroit last year. It was the world center of the automobile industry for 50 years. Now it’s ruined, empty factories, abandoned, decaying… The big Ford plants are falling apart. Chicago, once a major industrial center, has become a place where the Mafia runs rampant, and people are robbed in broad daylight. Thirty-nine states have legalized marijuana. Or gender diversity, for example. 50 genders are already being described. 11-year-olds are getting sex changes without parental permission. America used to be a frugal society. But that’s over. In other words, America has lost its national character. The globalists say, ‘Seven billion people is a lot. Through such measures we will reduce the population to a billion, pay everyone a wage, implant chips in everyone’s brains and make them our slaves.’ The abuse of technology is coming.”
