Azerbaijan, Baku. Today these words are familiar to the whole world. A short period of independence and a huge road travelled. Baku has become the center of international negotiations. Especially after the liberation of Azerbaijani territories from occupation, the foreign policy defined by Azerbaijan has made the small country even more recognizable in the world. Azerbaijan, which has avoided becoming a tool of big powers, continues its independent foreign policy despite all pressures.
Why are we talking about Baku today? Because we have to talk about it!
Baku is hosting the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29). More than 70 thousand guests from over 190 countries have gathered in Baku. This is the first large-scale international event of this level in the history of Azerbaijan. Previously, world leaders have also gathered in Baku to discuss global problems. But this time we are here to save our planet. Azerbaijan has carefully prepared for COP29 and organized the event at a high level.
Azerbaijan has become a platform for solving concerns of all countries of the world. Baku, a small city on the Caspian Sea coast, has become a place for solving global difficulties.
This is another success story of Azerbaijan. Visitors to Baku leave with positive impressions, noting the oil and gas country’s steps towards green energy.
But there are also those who are dissatisfied. There are those who criticize Baku without even having been here. Who are they? Some countries of the European Union, France!
These countries, who ignore the importance of the international event in Baku with their selfish plans, are obviously puppets of the lobby interested in conflicts. Those who, based on double standards, ignore global problems that threaten our planet are the executors of decisions that destroy our world.
What is Baku doing? Raises its hands to save the planet. What has Baku done to you? Or are you threatening us for paying attention to environmental problems in countries you once held as colonies? Or for implementing projects that are destroying our planet?
Countries that need Azerbaijani oil and gas, those who have travelled to Baku for years to buy our oil, are now threatening us over our own resources. We urge them to visit Azerbaijan. Come and see what projects we are implementing. Look at the oil and gas country’s investment in green energy. See the help we are providing to other countries of the world. Otherwise, those who criticize Baku today are toys in the hands of a lobby seeking to destroy our planet.
Azerbaijan knows well what ecological terror is. During the occupation of our territories, large companies from the countries that criticize us engaged in environmental terrorism on Azerbaijani lands through Armenia. They destroyed our rivers, nature, ecology. However, they still do not understand or do not want to understand the essence of this. Ecological terror in one country threatens not only it, but the whole planet.
To solve ecological problems, the world must be united. Otherwise, our planet will be destroyed. Decisions must be made not on the basis of political views, but on the basis of moral values and in the direction of ecological restoration. Otherwise, we will all lose. After all, each of us lives on this planet.
