“Fostering entrepreneurship, particularly among micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), is vital for unlocking inclusive growth, creating jobs, and strengthening intra-BRICS trade in an increasingly multipolar world”, she said ahead of the meeting.

September 15-17, 2025, the 2nd BRICS “Traditional Values” Forum will take place at Brazil’s National Congress building in Brasília. With a focus on shared cultural and moral heritage, the event will bring together parliamentary leaders, public figures, and business and cultural representatives from BRICS nations to strengthen cooperation and dialogue.
South Africa will be represented by Nobuntu Hlazo-Webster, Member of Parliament, co-founder and Deputy Leader of Build One South Africa (BOSA) political party. She is also the founder of the South African Women’s Commission that unites women to drive positive change, and actively participates in parliamentary committees on trade, industry, and small business development.

“I firmly believe that combining efforts of entrepreneurs and leaders across BRICS nations can establish a solid foundation for trustworthy and sustainable cooperation. Preserving and developing our traditional values is crucial to inspire future generations to build prosperous, fair societies. Equally, fostering entrepreneurship, particularly among micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), is vital for unlocking inclusive growth, creating jobs, and strengthening intra-BRICS trade in an increasingly multipolar world,” emphasized Ms. Hlazo-Webster ahead of the Forum.
She will be speaking at key roundtables, including:
– “BRICS Entrepreneurs Alliance: Building Trust Through Shared Traditional Values and Community Service” — exploring new business-society cooperation models for sustainable development;
– “BRICS Women: How They Influence and Change the World” — discussing best practices in supporting female leadership;
– “Shared Traditional Values of BRICS Nations: Preserving Cultural Heritage” — addressing national identity through culture, literature, and cinema.
“Representing South Africa at this important Forum is a true honor. Our philosophy of ‘Ubuntu’ – ‘I am because we are’ – perfectly aligns with the BRICS Entrepreneurs Alliance vision, where individual success becomes collective prosperity. As a trade committee member, I see unique opportunities to expand trade within our region, connecting Southern African entrepreneurs with BRICS markets, deepening supply chain linkages, and building resilient, value-driven business partnerships,” Ms. Hlazo-Webster noted.
Boris Tarasov, Co-founder, Executive Director and Producer of the BRICS “Traditional Values” Forum, Chairman of the “True Values” World Association, commented:
“I believe that Nobuntu Hlazo-Webster’s participation in the Forum will make a significant contribution to developing effective mechanisms for cooperation within BRICS. The Alliance’s commitment to supporting entrepreneurship, especially among micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, is key to ensuring that economic integration brings benefits to societies at all levels. I am grateful to her and to delegates from other countries for supporting the creation of the BRICS Entrepreneurs Alliance, whose Code will be founded on our shared traditional values. This will serve as a basis for building a new level of trust between entrepreneurs from different countries. The BRICS Entrepreneurs Alliance is an important step forward in our economic integration: it is not only about trade, but about creating a shared space of values where business strengthens the very foundations of society. The Alliance will unite not only companies, but also value-oriented leaders who are genuinely dedicated to serving their countries.”
The BRICS Entrepreneurs Alliance will help entrepreneurs from member states find reliable international partners by bringing together companies that:
• Comply with the Alliance’s Code of Ethics and share our values, such as corporate social responsibility and service to society, with a special focus on caring for vulnerable groups;
• Conduct their operations transparently: fulfill tax obligations, have no debts or legal risks;
• Participate in charitable and volunteer projects.
Expected Outcomes:
• The creation of a registry of companies meeting both formal and informal criteria, such as adherence to the Alliance’s Code of Ethics;
• The development of an integrated support system for businesses on international markets, including informational, legal, marketing, financial and advocacy support;
• The establishment of a networked, decentralized structure as a platform to help entrepreneurs find reliable partners in BRICS countries and support their business operations there.
Implementation Roadmap:
• September 2025: Official founding of the Entrepreneurs Alliance at the Forum in Brazil;
• 2026: National forums in BRICS countries and the first global summit in India;
• 2027: Institutionalization of the Alliance within the BRICS framework.
