Vadodara, India / Brasília, Brazil
The 2nd BRICS “Traditional Values” Forum will be held on September 15–17, 2025, at Brazil’s National Congress in Brasília. This international event will bring together parliamentarians, cultural figures, civil society leaders, and business representatives from BRICS nations to strengthen cooperation based on shared moral and spiritual values.
Dr. Hemang Joshi, distinguished Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) from Vadodara, Gujarat and a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) representative, will represent India at this high-level diplomatic and cultural forum.
Beyond his legislative role, Dr. Joshi is a well-respected educationist and social reformer. He is the founder of Alindra Higher Education Primary School and has made impactful contributions to rural educational development. Dr. Joshi also serves on key parliamentary committees on education, family, and youth, where he advocates policies aligned with India’s core traditional and progressive values.

Ahead of the Forum, Dr. Joshi emphasized its mission:
“I am honored to participate in this platform dedicated to preserving the traditional values that underpin just and stable societies. By uniting our efforts in culture, education, and healthcare, we can foster long-term development and well-being for our nations. Only through joint efforts can we address global challenges and open new horizons for cooperation among BRICS countries.”
At the Forum, Dr. Joshi will contribute to three key roundtables:
— “Traditional Values of BRICS Countries” — A discussion will focus on the role of spiritual and cultural heritage in strengthening national identity, sovereignty, and fostering dialogue among BRICS nations.
— “Education of the Future: Global Challenges and BRICS Cooperation” — Experts will explore innovative pedagogical approaches, global education trends, and the expansion of cross-border academic collaboration.
— “Nations’ Health: Increasing Lifespan, Quality of Life, and Happiness of BRICS Peoples” — This roundtable will address preventive healthcare, integration of public health measures, and the exchange of best medical practices among member states to improve population health outcomes.
Dr. Joshi will also participate in announcing the BRICS Literary Award 2025 long list. As a member of the Award’s Founding Council, he will speak at the ceremony, which will be part of the Forum’s cultural program. This segment is dedicated to promoting contemporary BRICS literature, advancing literary diplomacy, and strengthening international cultural ties.
Speaking about the Forum’s global objectives, Dmitry Kuznetsov, Vice President of the Organizing Committee of the Forum and a Deputy of the Russian State Duma, noted:
“The ultimate mission of the BRICS “Traditional Values” Forum is to find a common moral foundation with the countries of the Global Majority. Culture plays a key role here—more specifically, literature. It is writers who help articulate what we believe in, what we hope for, and what we dream of.
At the Forum, we must hear what shared values the peoples of the BRICS nations hold. But the event’s goal in Brazil’s Congress should not be purely theoretical. If BRICS countries know each other better and understand what unites us, cooperation in all practical spheres will become more effective.
Our joint work with colleagues from other countries has been actively underway for several months now. Today, I can confidently say that our peoples share such values as mutual respect, solidarity, compassion, cultural diversity, and the pursuit of fair prosperity and the health of future generations. Within the Forum, we plan to make important decisions based on this common ground.
I would like to especially highlight among the Forum’s participants our dear friend and fellow parliamentarian, Dr. Hemang Joshi. His participation in our section, “Nations’ Health: Increasing Lifespan, Quality of Life, and Happiness Levels of BRICS Peoples”, will lend the Forum a practical focus in the fields of culture and preventive medicine. The section is organized by Maria Maryasova, Chair of the Committee on Influencer Engagement of one of the Duma’s factions.
Our meeting should become a pivotal humanitarian event during Brazil’s chairmanship.”
The Forum’s official motto— “Uniting Traditions, Strengthening Nations”—perfectly captures the spirit of intercultural solidarity, mutual respect, and shared development. Thanks to its diverse agenda, covering diplomacy, education, public health, and cultural promotion, the II BRICS Traditional Values Forum has every chance to become a key platform for advancing humanitarian cooperation within BRICS.
