Two global revolts

Of peoples and states..

By Dimitris Konstantakopoulos, from Athens / Greece

Two very important uprisings are now stirring up large parts of humanity, even if many of mainstream media — not media of information, but of lobotomizing and bestializing — under the suffocating, historically unprecedented control of financial capital and of the Israeli and Zionist lobbies which dominate them, do whatever they can to conceal the scope and the dynamics of these revolts.

The “organizer”, the instigator of both these revolts is no other than the extremist, adventurist and incoherent policy itself, carried out by the ruling forces in the “collective West” (USA, Israel, EU), which leaves no room for compromise and threatens with near extinction any people or state that resists or even succumbs to the Empire!

Humanity Says ‘No to Genocide, Zionism and Fascism’

The first of those two uprisings is the global uprising of peoples against the genocide of the Palestinians — that is, against the revival of the methods and ideologies of Fascism and Nazism in Palestine and the “Greater Middle East” by the Jewish state itself and the acceptance of this revival by the “international community,” which amounts to the abolition of Humanism and International Law. Peoples feel much better than their governments — many of which are directly controlled by powerful lobbies — that if Israel is allowed to exterminate or displace millions of Palestinians and push into chaos Lebanon and Iran, then the very moral foundations of our civilization will be struck, if not the very survival of the human species put at risk.

They also realize increasingly that Israel’s ability to carry out genocide depends directly on the ability of global Financial Capital to impose its rising Totalitarianism on a large part of humanity. In other words, we are not simply talking about the future of the Palestinians. We are talking about what will happen to the Greeks, the Australians, the French, the Latin Americans, the Canadians, the Turks, etc. If Netanyahu manages to make such a genocide essentially accepted by humanity, what future can humanity and its civilization have?

For this reason, the importance of what is happening in Palestine and the opposition to Israel is comparable to other great battles which determined the direction of the world like the one in Stalingrad Gaza, the Golgotha and the Stalingrad of Our Century | Defend Democracy Press. People worldwide understand this in increasing numbers. That is why we see this unprecedented wave of continuous demonstrations in support of the Palestinians and against Zionist Israel on all continents, comparable only to the movements against the Vietnam War and the global youth uprising of 1968.

The “uprising” of states

The second uprising is an uprising of states rather than of peoples against an increasingly aggressive “collective West,” which, under the leadership of global Finance, the USA and Israel, is attempting to exercise increasingly harsh economic, geopolitical, and military bullying on all the other states of the planet, in a desperate, adventurist, dangerous, and quite incoherent attempt to preserve global domination at any cost.

This uprising already began with the refusal of the majority of non-Western states to march alongside the West in the war against Russia. They did so because they knew very well that Western policy did everything it could to provoke the conflict between in Ukraine. But they did it also, and mainly, because they realized that a possible victory of NATO over such a militarily powerful country as Russia would mean, on the one hand, the continuation of war with China, and, on the other, a huge step toward the completion of a planetary dictatorship of the West, which would leave no room for even the slightest independent policy in any country of the world.

However, this was until recently — and except for North Korea and Iran, which provided Russia with arms — a mainly defensive policy.

Towards a global “Axis of Resistance”?

But the war of Israel and the USA against Iran and, above all, Trump’s aggressive and incoherent trade policy is already provoking a much more offensive disposition in the countries of the Global South, which are beginning to think they probably need a kind of global “Axis of Resistance.” They realize that what is at stake is not simply the economic damage Trump can do to them, but their very sovereignty. And they feel, more and more, the need to cooperate with each other against the pressure they are receiving from the US.

In the strictly military field, there is already a qualitative increase in military cooperation between Russia, China, Iran, and North Korea. The question of further cooperation between them and Pakistan remains open.

In the economic field, Trump’s tariffs on India now threaten the strategic alliance between Trump and Modi, even though both belong to Netanyahu’s near-“fascistic” sphere of influence.

The Indian Prime Minister refused to respond to four attempts by his American counterpart to call him, and he is now traveling in China for the first time for seven years. The mastermind of Trump’s anti-Indian trade policy is none other than the strongly anti-Chinese advisor of the American President, Mr. Navarro, whom many believe could, with his advice, provoke a military confrontation between Washington and Beijing.

We do not know if this will happen, but Mr. Navarro and his President seem ready to achieve what until recently was unthinkable. America, with its policy in Ukraine, managed to bring Russia and China closer together. Now it risks provoking rapprochement between two historical rivals, India and China, if not the realization of Primakov’s “vision” of a strategic triad Beijing–Moscow–New Delhi!

Mr. Modi is now in Beijing, where he will stay four days and be photographed together with Xi and also Russian President Putin.

This is not happening because Western leaders have become stupid. The opposite has happened. They became stupid because there is nothing very clever and very easy to stop Western decline. Western Capitalism resorts to “stupid,” increasingly disturbed political leaders precisely because it is incapable of finding a rational solution to its ever-sharper systemic crisis and the need to perpetuate its global domination.

Latin America reacts too

“We must unite and take a clear stand against unilateralism and protectionism,” said Chinese President Xi in a recent phone call with Brazilian President Lula, who saw the US impose 50% tariffs on his country’s products in order to prevent the prosecution of the far-right, “super-Zionist” and “buffoon” former president of the country, Bolsonaro. At the same time, Trump threatens the other “giant” of Latin America, Mexico, with 30% tariffs.

All that is forcing the leaders of these states to start thinking that instead of trying to get along with the US and their not entirely sane President, and instead of watching Washington “eliminate” them one by one, they might oppose America with an organized, coherent and collective reaction.

After all, only the BRICS, the alternative alliance to the G7, has 4.5 billion inhabitants, over 55% of the world’s population, and 37.3% of global GDP measured in purchasing power parity.

Under American pressure, Lula’s thinking is evolving. “Brazil cannot depend on the dollar, and the BRICS group must try to see if it can have a currency for trade,” he recently declared, now seeking to forge an alliance with Mexico as well.

It is far too early to make safe predictions about where these two global “uprisings” can lead, but they reflect and accelerate a new qualitative leap of global consciousness. We are still far from being able to describe a realistic plan for a democratic “new world order” and much more so for a “new civilization” that we need. But it is already clear to the eyes of a large part of humanity that the existing neoliberal and Western-dominated order is not sustainable. That is why it increasingly resorts to authoritarianism, even to fascism and to war.

It is sad that today there is almost no noteworthy western Left that could play the role of a bridge between the popular social strata of the North and the West and the rising nations and peoples of the East and the South, being the bearer of a new social, international, cultural vision that humanity so desperately requires today.

Let us hope that such a force will appear in time to avert the great disasters threatening the civilization and even the survival of humanity.
