“Operations will stop as soon as the blockade is lifted”

The United States has been attacking Ansarullah forces in Yemen since March 15. On March 7, Ansarullah leader Abdel Malik al-Houthi announced that he had given Israel a four-day deadline to stop the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza. Ansarullah then resumed operations against Israeli ships in the Arabian Gulf, the Bab al-Mandab Strait and the Red Sea. The US targeted the capital Sana’a and several provinces in its attacks. Journalist Rayan al-Aziz from the Ansarullah Press Office said that the Ansarullah operations were carried out in consultation with Gaza. He also said that these operations will stop once humanitarian aid starts entering.

‘We achieved to break the siege’

Yemeni journalist al-Aziz said that Ansarullah gave a four-day deadline when Israel insisted on imposing a siege on Gaza, blocking aid and violating the ceasefire agreement. Al-Aziz emphasized that they started the naval blockade at the end of the four days because humanitarian aid was still not delivered to Gaza, adding, “All Israeli ships passing through the Red Sea and the Arabian Sea, the Bab al-Mandeb Strait and the Gulf of Aden will be exposed to Yemeni missiles and drones. And this will prevent Israel from imposing a siege on Gaza. This naval blockade is a principled, moral and humanitarian response to the Israeli siege against our brothers in Gaza.” Asked by Al-Aziz “Did you expect the attacks?”, he replied: “When we decided to support Gaza, we foresaw all possibilities, and we are ready to face all challenges and make all sacrifices.”

When the operation will end

Al-Aziz reported that Ansarullah’s operation against Israel was carried out in consultation with the resistance in Gaza. The Yemeni journalist said, “What is certain is that we do not make such a decision without consulting the mujahideen in Gaza. Therefore, all our operations are nothing but operations in support of Gaza and its mujahideen.” Al-Aziz also said when the operations will end. “Once a ceasefire is signed and humanitarian aid enters Gaza, the operations will stop,” the Yemeni journalist said, emphasizing that the goal is to break the blockade on Gaza.

‘4 times we targeted the US warship’

Ansarullah’s al-Masira TV reported that on March 19, the US also launched airstrikes on the Al-Ahli Sports Club building in Mina district in Hodeidah province and Midi district in Hajjah province.

On the same day, Ansarullah announced that missiles and drones struck the US aircraft carrier “USS Harry Truman” in the Red Sea. It was stated that the aircraft carrier was targeted 4 times in the last 48 hours.
